Abstract

The new spaces of digital publishing offer hitherto unheard of opportunities for textual editing and for the development of original essays. Consequently, new text forms that feed on the possibilities of a “screen paradigm” are generated, in the same way that creative works have taken advantage of the digital sphere in many aspects. In order to analyze the steps taken so far in the digital edition of literary texts originating from the “printed regime”, this paper will study the different approaches that have been carried out in media such as the Web or specific apps, with particular attention to universal references as El Quijote or The Waste Land. The field of intellectual thought would not be complete without including new discourses that reflect the rhizomatic network structure of the Web, such as that of Los estilitas de la sociedad tecnológica. This paper reviews, therefore, the use of technological resources in these and other texts to elucidate future opportunities in textual editing and thought in relation to the Digital Humanities, covering hypermedia from the Web to apps.
